Super Sewer Gators vs Space Bugs Launch!!!

"SSGVSB" is my entry for the GMTK Jam 2021. This is one of my favorite jams and I'm really excited to be participating this year again. I had a blast making this game and experimenting with the theme this time. My thought was "What if two arcade cabinets were linked together, and played with the same inputs at the same time?" Both games control with only the arrow keys but you need to control the characters simultaneously. There are also portals connecting the games together in crazy ways that you can discover.

Despite pulling an all-niter on this one, I still had a blast making it. The game really stretched me as far as design goes, and I'm pleased with how it turned out in the end. The game is unique and I hopefully was able to tackle the theme in a novel way. I also had a bunch of fun making the art, because I always make pixel art with black outlines for some reason (probably because I'm not too great of an artist so I just use the same style every time XD) but I didn't use borders on this one finally :)
